What a week! After coming back from Authors After Dark con and recuperating from all the fun, I found myself immersed in the absolute joy of finding two new editors, both amazingly talented women. Take a look!

Georgia Woods, Senior Editor (georgia at etopia press dot com)

Georgia Woods, Senior Editor, Etopia PressI’m Georgia, and I’m an editor. Sounds like I need one of those 12-step programs, doesn’t it? Well it’s too close to the truth – I’m addicted to romance and there’s no turning back now. My fancy title is Senior Editor here at Etopia Press, which simply means I’m the biggest mother hen in the bunch. I’ve been reading romance books since 1973 and ebooks since 2004, and I’ve been editing almost as long. I’m hooked on the digital platform and believe it is forever changing the publishing industry and how we all read books. I find this extremely convenient – saves on buying bookcases.

What do I like to edit? I’m especially fond of characters with strong personalities and stories with even stronger emotional hooks, and I’m not picky whether it involves a m/f, m/m/f, m/m, or m/f/m relationship, although I’m not really into f/f storylines. My personal favorites are historical, paranormal, and romantic suspense, and I have a soft spot for books with a Southern flair or setting. I also love a good vampire/urban warrior paranormal story. I like kick-ass heroines and strong dominant males – no wishy-washy characters need apply.

Personal Favorite Reads

Fried Green Tomatoes at The Whistle Stop Café: A Novel by Fannie Flagg

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt

The Midnight series by Lisa Marie Rice

The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J. R. Ward

The Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian

Tere Michaels, Editor (tere michaels at etopia press dot com)
Tere Michaels, Editor, Etopia Press Tere Michaels is a full-time author and editor who can’t get over her damn good luck at being able to do both things she loves best for a living.

Helping authors achieve their best possible book is the mission for Tere as an editor. She loves the creative process–from brainstorming to outline, all the way to the final draft. When reading or editing, she enjoys old-school romance (m/f, m/m, f/f, menage), urban fantasy, YA paranormal and historical fiction (do you have a historical paranormal? She wants it!) – but so long as the characters are compelling, she can be won over to any genre at all.

Tere lives in the Metro NYC area with her husband, son, three cats and about 100 fish. Helpful hint: When the pet store tells you all the fish are male, don’t believe them.

One of my favorite Twitter accounts — Flashlight Worthy Book Recommendations — just got in touch to spread the word about their new Beach Reads category. What do you think?

While we’re at it, NPR has listed their Top 100 Killer Thrillers.  You can check that out here. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128718927

I’m guessing “Jaws” probably won’t be on FWB’s list of best books for the beach.

It was about time to update the cover gallery, so I decided to redecorate. What do you think?

You’ll find my new book covers in the Cover Art section. Soon I’ll be adding an Editorial section with writing tips, information on self-editing your manuscript, working with editors, and selling your novel, plus other helpful resources for writers. There’s also a page with information on Etopia Press, our new electronic publishing company launching in early 2011. Or you can visit the Etopia Press Web site at www.etopiapress.com.

Questions? Comments? I’d love to hear them!
